February 1 - Line Corrections, Acting, Memorizing

LINE CORRECTIONS
We needed to do some line corrections last week and since not everyone was able to be at Shakespeare here are the corrections. The words in BLUE are the changes. Please go through your script and make the changes.

page 2 line 7  your brother Oliver.
page 2 line 18 I am Orlando, the youngest...
page 3 line 11 Whither wander you Touchstone?
page 4 line 44 broke three of his opponents' ribs (crossed out the first "his")
page 6 line 97 Orlando, my liege; Duke Frederick, I am the youngest son of...
page 7 line 125 duke, Rosalind by name, and here detained
page 9 line 6 Happy is your grace Duke Senior, that can
page 9 line 9 Come Amiens, shall we go and...
page 10 line 18 I partly guess Silvius, for I have...

One new change EVERYONE still needs to make is that on page 9 it lists "First Lord and Second Lord." There is only one lord in our play so the line should now read "I cannot hear of any that did see her my lord, and the roynish clown, is also missing... (First and Second Lord's lines are now just one longer paragraph said by one lord.)

ACTING (Please spend at least 15 minutes doing this)
Have fun practicing different emotions like we did in class last week. You can do these either on your own or with your family. One of you calls out an emotion (sad, silly, confused, tired, etc.) and all of you show it on your face, then it's another person's turn.

MEMORIZING
Have you highlighted all your lines and either highlighted or boxed the lines for your speaking cue (the person's line/s right before your part)?

Have you read your lines out loud a minimum of 5 times?

Have you recorded your lines onto a recording device? Are you practicing them?

Remember Sister Maurer's advice to listen and recite with your recording when you get up in the morning and before you go to sleep.

Have your parents or siblings help you practice your lines. Think about what emotion you are showing. Make it sound interesting.
